The EcoSmart Hospitality consortium met in Málaga, Spain, on 9 and 10 June 2026 for the project’s fourth Transnational Project Meeting. Hosted at Hotel Posadas de España Málaga, the two-day meeting brought all partners together to review progress, plan upcoming activities and strengthen collaboration as the project moves into an important phase of testing, feedback and dissemination.
Across the meeting, partners reviewed progress across all work packages, including project management, learning resources, training modules, the self-assessment tool, dissemination activity, the Knowledge Hub and sustainability planning. The discussions provided an opportunity to reflect on the work completed to date, agree next steps and ensure that the project remains on track to deliver practical, accessible and useful resources for the hospitality and VET sectors.
A key focus of the meeting was the preparation for pilot testing. Partners discussed the EcoSmart Hospitality curriculum resources, module content, training materials and toolbox, as well as plans for gathering feedback from users and stakeholders. This feedback will play an important role in ensuring that the project outputs are relevant, practical and responsive to the needs of hospitality SMEs, educators and learners.
The consortium also reviewed the EcoSmart self-assessment tool, which will support hospitality businesses and VET providers to reflect on their green and digital readiness. Partners discussed how the tool will be refined over the coming months, ahead of wider external testing. The meeting also included detailed planning around the Knowledge Hub, upcoming showcase events, dissemination activities and the long-term sustainability of the project results.
While the formal meeting sessions were central to progressing the project, TPM4 also highlighted one of the most valuable aspects of Erasmus+ cooperation: the opportunity to build real relationships across countries, organisations and sectors. On the evening of 9 June, partners came together for a project dinner in the beautiful city of Málaga. This provided a relaxed and enjoyable setting to continue conversations, share experiences and strengthen the working relationships that underpin successful European collaboration.
These moments of connection are an important part of Erasmus+ projects. Beyond the development of outputs and deliverables, international cooperation creates space for shared learning, cultural exchange and long-term professional relationships. For EcoSmart Hospitality, the Málaga meeting reinforced the strong partnership approach that continues to drive the project forward.
As EcoSmart Hospitality now moves into pilot testing, stakeholder feedback and showcase events in Ireland, Spain and Türkiye, the consortium is focused on refining and sharing practical tools that support a greener and more digitally ready hospitality sector. TPM4 marked an important step in that journey, bringing partners together to review progress, plan the next phase and continue working towards resources that will have value beyond the lifetime of the project.
